About the Blog
So I didn’t want this to be your typical “about” section. I wanted you to know why I feel like I can even make a blog about growing, building, rebuilding, or maintaining intentional friendships. First off, I’m not a psychologist, life coach, or anything like that (I’m actually a Certified Public Accountant by trade, ha).
But I am a person with a decent amount of life experience and have done a lot of self-work that’s allowed me to have the knowledge and self-awareness that I have today.
So, let’s just put it all on the table…
I’ve been a friend who didn’t show up when I was needed.
I’ve been a friend who didn’t listen.
I’ve been a friend who was afraid to be honest.
And I’ve been a friend who has taken a friend for granted.
I’m not bragging about these things, but I acknowledge that they have played a part in my journey to healthier friendships.
I’ve grown a lot and can say with confidence that…
I am a friend who is incredibly loyal.
I am a friend who is thoughtful.
I am a friend who is supportive.
And I am a friend that a friend can count on.
I consider myself a pretty good friend to have. Not a perfect friend, but a good friend. And in these past few years, I’ve reflected on my experiences, interactions, efforts, and emotions and learned that the best way to be a great friend, is with intention. I’ve learned how to be a friend on purpose, and it’s completely changed my life!
While I’ll always be a work in progress, I just keep getting better by God’s grace and lovingkindness.
If you’re interested in investing in your friendships and doing some self-reflection in the process, you’re in the right place. This blog was designed to be a place to provide tools, resources, tips, and advice on ways to sow into your friendships. It’s also been created to be a safe space, validating your experiences and feelings as you navigate the journey of friendship.
